The Shrine of Sri Visalakshi Ambal sametha Sri Viswanatheeswarar temple has a rich heritage in the kalpoondi Village and it is  about 7 kms  on east side  from Arni  Town  Tiruvannamalai District, Tamilnadu. The Lord Siva Peruman   appears here as “Salagrama Lingam” This Lingam has been brought from the famous place called Kasi as known as Varanashi about 500 years back. The Dharshan of Sri Viswanatheeswarar in Kalpoondi Village  is equal to have Dharshan of Kasi Viswanatheeswaran and Sri Visalakshi of Kasi.  In the south side of the temple the Lord Dakshinamurthy is in the form of Yoga Swarubam. Hence this temple is worshiped as Guru Parikara stalam and Guru Dhakshinamurthy  Bhagavan is blessing all the devotees with Gurupalankal.

The temple was under heavy damaged condition  and  renovated by   Alaya Kainkarya Sath Sangam, Headed by Sri K R GOPALAKRISHNAN Chennai  and Kalpoondi Village People Headed by Sri M Sundar, Village Panchayat President  with a cost of Rs.28 Lakhs. The Kumbabhishegam of the temple held on 30th August 2009 in grand manner and the Mandalabhisegam started from 31st August 2009 to 14th October 2009 was celebrated successfully.

To maintain this ancient heritage temple we have brought a NITHYA POOJA KATTALAI  Per day  at a cost of Rs.6000/- ( Rs.Six Thousands Only) one time payment. With this is one can sponcer one day Pooja and  Abhishegam to all Deities of the temple the selected day by the devotee.
